Finished to the highest of standards by award winning Scottish designers, the Mill of Dess Lodge was renovated by Gordon Mitchell Contractors in 2015/2016.
The steading sits within a 428-acre estate which was purchased by the client in 2011. Since then the client has carefully and accurately restored much of the estate to its full potential, with a major part of this programme being the transformation of the old farm steading.
The aim for our client was to offer sporting parties from around the globe an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy top-end cuisine, comfort and service in a relaxed and pleasant environment, whilst getting a taste of Royal Deeside.
The client had requested 10 luxurious en-suite double rooms to be created throughout the south and north wings of the building. The conversion also included a dining and drawing room, drying room, secure storage area and state-of-the-art professional kitchen.
The lodge boasts many internal and external features that catch the eye. Notably, the vaulted ceilings within the dining and drawing rooms, as well as the additional stonework and timber cladding.
The project was managed effectively and efficiently from the outset and all parties involved developed strong working relationships with very little challenges occurring.
We are delighted with the success of this project and wish all at the Lower Dess Sporting Estate continued success.
