Our Facility
Like our company, our purpose-built yard at Haugh of Sluie in Banchory, has been 30 years in the making. It now encompasses:
Oversees all areas of business, manages projects and contracts.
Managed projects up to £10 million.
Being the first point of contact for clients, preparing quotation, designing timber kits, procuring materials. Overseeing factory productions.
Purchasing of materials on a daily basis, job costing, allocating of timesheets on a weekly basis to relevant jobs. Invoice all hire works.
Manage all types of Contracts from commencement right through to completion. Liaise with clients, architects, surveyors & building inspectors. Organise & manage tradesmen apprentices & sub-contractors.
Supervise site management & health & safety on projects. Take off quantities from plans. Purchase materials for projects and yard stock. Site measurement and order of joinery & building items. Arrange completion and snagging issues on all projects. Pick up and delivery of materials.
Duties include sending out for sub-contractor and material enquiries to allow us to price bills of quantities. If we received architect’s drawings only, I still send out the enquiries and then measure off the drawings builder’s quantities’ for joiner and builder. I attend site meetings, measured for valuations, liaised with architects, quantity surveyors, sub-contractors and measure variations.
Has worked on projects ranging from small projects to projects in excess of £5million. He is responsible for all costing and commercial issues within Gordon Mitchell Contractors Ltd.
